Training Eligibility:​


PLEASE NOTE THAT TRAINING SESSIONS ARE RESERVED EXCLUSIVELY FOR DESIGNATED STAFF OF MARYLAND-BASED PROVIDER AGENCIES THAT ARE LICENSED BY THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (BHA) UNDER COMAR (CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS) 10.63 AS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM TYPES:

1) MOBILE TREATMENT SERVICES (MTS) PROGRAMS, INCLUDING ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT (ACT) PROGRAMS (ONLY ADULT PROGRAMS)

2) PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PROGRAMS (PRP) FOR ADULTS

3) RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAMS (RRP)

The DLA-20 functional assessment fulfills the Maryland Medicaid requirement for a core standardized assessment tool. This training session or an equivalent training session delivered by a credentialed trainer approved by MTM Services is a requirement for all Maryland-based provider agency staff who perform assessments on adults who receive MTS, ACT, PRP, or RRP services within the Public BEhavioral Health System (PBHS)..

BHA sponsors this training free of charge to eligible Maryland-based provider staff through the University of Maryland School of Medicine Training and Evidence-Based Practice Centers. If you represent an eligible  agency with at least 12 staff to train, we may be able to arrange for a training at your facility. To make this request, please email us at dla20@som.umaryland.edu  and provide your agency name, address and the email address for a contact person. 

Registration will be open until one week prior to the date of the training session. The schedule of training sessions below is regularly updated, so please check back frequently to find a training date and time that fits your schedule. If a training you need to attend is full or closed, please contact dla20@som.umaryland.edu ​ to make a request for an on-site training.

​As an accredited academic institution, the University of Maryland School of Medicine Training Center is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for 3.25 Continuing Education credits (Category 1) for licensed social workers in Maryland; as a sponsor of 3.25 Continuing Education (CE) acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists; and 3.25 Continuing Education Units (Category A) by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, upon completion of this training and a completed evaluation. The University of Maryland School of Medicine Training Center maintains responsibility for this program. A Certificate of Attendance will be made available for all other disciplines.
